The Reed-Custer basketball team picked up its first win of the season on Thursday, 69-49, over Mendota.
The Comets came out firing with a 25-9 first quarter run that helped them build a 35-19 half-time lead.
Reed-Custer outscored Mendota 34-30 in the final quarters playing bend but don’t break defense to grab the win.
The Comets hit on 30-of-53 shots from the floor (56%), made four threes but made only 5-of-16 free-throws. They led in the rebounding game, 43-34 and delivered 17 offensive assists.
