Jake McPherson’s big day fueled the Reed-Custer baseball team’s 8-3 win over El Paso Gridley on Monday.
McPherson had one hit but it was a big three-run home run. He also walked twice and scored a run.
The Comets got the ball rolling with seven unanswered runs to take a 7-0 lead.
El Paso answered with two in the fourth to make it 7-2. They were only able to muster one more run and the Comets scored another run to hold on for the win.
