Barbara Flatt

MANHATTAN—Barbara Flatt, 76, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 16, 2018 with her family at her side.
Barbara was an avid cook and a loving friend. She was a dedicated employee to Galvez Restaurant, Satellite Music Network, Farm Services and retired from Ritchie Grain Elevator. She was very faithful servant to Christ and was an active member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Wilton Center.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Marlin Flatt; her beloved children: Connie (Doug) Koehn, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Joseph Flatt, of Wilmington; Judy (Larry) Tierney, of Peotone; brothers and sisters, Jim (Kathleen) Walsh, Carol O’Connor, Danny (Wendy) Walsh, Mary O’Neil, Cathy (Tom) Davis; one aunt, Gerry Schultz; grandchildren, Michele Koehn, Stephen (Stephanie) Koehn, Jackie King, Megan Flatt (Becca West), Emily Tierney and Sarah Tierney; seven great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Donna (Bill) Chellios, Marian (Bob) Edmonson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Evelyn Walsh; in laws, Marvin and Margaret Flatt; brother-in-law, John O’Neil and niece, Jennifer Walsh.  
Visitation for Barbara Flatt will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018, from 3-8 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S. State St. (Rt.52) Manhattan.
Funeral service will begin with prayers at 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the funeral home, then in procession to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 14936 W. Wilmington-Peotone Road, Manhattan, for 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Intermentwill be at Mount St. Patrick Cemetery Wilton Center.
