Braidwood Mayor arrested for DUI

Braidwood Mayor Bob Jones was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 24, by Illinois State Police on probable cause for driving under the influence.
Jones was involved in a three-car car crash on Route 53 north of Coal City Road in Wilmington.
The Joliet Herald News reports that state police said Jones rear-ended a Chevrolet Cruze with his Chevrolet Tahoe, which then rear-ended a Chevrolet Sedan. Two female passengers in Jones’ car were taken to the hospital by the Braidwood Fire Department for minor injuries. The driver of the Cruze was also transported to the hospital and sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Sedan and its passenger were unharmed. Jones was not injured, The Joliet Herald News reports.
Representatives from the Illinois State Police did not respond to The Braidwood Journal on Tuesday afternoon.
Jones was elected mayor of Braidwood in April. He also owns Jones-Eez Bar-B-Que at 551 W. Kennedy Road in Braidwood.
