Dennis King

BRAIDWOOD—Dennis W. King, 70, of Braidwood, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.  
Born Aug. 25, 1948 in Joliet, he was the son of Charles and Geneva (nee Quick) King. Dennis was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during Vietnam.  He earned the title of Sergeant and was also awarded with a Bronze Star.  He was a member of the VFW Post #5422 in Wilmington and the Braidwood Recreation Club where he served on the fishing council.  He was also a former deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington.  
Surviving are his wife, Barbara (nee Earley) King, of Braidwood, who he married July 15, 1972 in Braidwood; two daughters, Michele Ryan, of Manhattan and Melissa King, of Greenfield, MA; one granddaughter, Isla Ryan; one brother, David (Judy) King, of Arizona and one sister, Annette (the late Ben) Kincheloe, of Wilmington.  
Visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 from 4-7 p.m.  Funeral services will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 9:30 a.m. to the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Braidwood.
