James Hickman

BRAIDWOOD—James Lawrence Hickman, 60, of Braidwood, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Monday, July 13, 2020 at his home.
Born May 2, 1960 in Aurora, IL, he was the son of Johnnie and Janice (nee Hocking) Hickman. Jim was a truck driver for 26 years and when he wasn’t working he enjoyed spending the time with his family. He loved fishing and bow hunting with his children; as well as playing video games against them and his brothers. Surviving are his beloved children, Michael (MaKayla) Houser, of Godley and Cheyenne Hickman, of Braidwood; one grandson, Maxwell Scott Houser; caregiver and former wife, Mary C. Hickman, of Braidwood; three brothers: John (Rose) Hickman, of Sedalia, MO; William (Bonnie) Hickman and Daniel (Robin) Hickman, all of Aurora; three sisters: Sandy (Tom) Bourgonie, of Aurora; Janet (LJ) Owens, of Corbin, KY and Lily (John) Doolin, of California; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families; two sisters-in-law, Michelle Hickman, of Diamond and Kim Hickman, of California; best friend, Scott Schopf and his beloved cat, Peanut.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Jeffrey Hickman and Robert Hickman and one nephew, Chris Bourgoine.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private services will be held at a later date.
