James W. Seeley

MORRIS—James W. Seeley, 85, of Morris, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 11, 2018.
He was born in Joliet, the son of the late James J. Seeley; mother, Mary (Rittof) Seely Derlinga; step-father, Walter Derlinga.  He attended Joliet Catholic High School.  James served proudly in the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. Shortly after returning home from the service he was employed by and retired from the Joliet Steel Mill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Doris C. (Thayer) Seeley; beloved children: Jim Jr. (Tammy) Seeley, Carolyn (Bill Jr) Russell, Susan (Bill) Gregurich and John Seeley; sisters, Sr. Mary Francis Seeley O.S.F. and Geraldine (Donald-deceased) Thayer and brother, Gerald (Flo) Seeley; numerous beloved grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis W. Seeley; sister, Patricia (Joseph “Bucky”) Bakos and brother, George (MaryAnn) Seeley.
Funeral services will be held from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home on Saturday June 16, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.  Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, June 15 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
