Jean Decker

WILMINGTON—Jean C. Decker, 77, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 20, 2019 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home in Joliet.
Born June 18, 1941 in Wilmington, Jean was a daughter of James and Ann (O’Connor) Stanley. She was raised in Wilmington; attended St. Rose Catholic School, and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1959.
Jean worked at Johnson & Johnson Personal Products for over 25 years and was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington. She will be remembered for her love of cats, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include her two sons, Gerald “Skeeter” (Debbie Jo) VanDuyne, of Paris, MO. and Jeffrey (Sheila) VanDuyne, of Wilmington; two granddaughters: Casey VanDuyne and Cory VanDuyne; one brother, Jim (Susan) Stanley, of Wilmington; two nieces, Teri (Jeff) Streul ,of Joliet, and Julie (Gordon) Archey, of Wilmington, and numerous great nieces and great nephews, as well as her special friend, Bette Stutts, of Wilmington.
Jean was preceded in death her parents: James Stanley (1988) and Ann Stanley (2011); first husband, Jerry VanDuyne and second husband, Kenny Decker.
Per Jean’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be no services.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Jean’s memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 S. Main Street, Wilmington.
