John S. Klein

BRACEVILLE—John S. Klein, 76, of Braceville, formerly of Blue Island, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at home.
Born Jan. 31, 1941, John S. was a son of Bob and Anna Klein. He was raised and educated in Blue Island, and after high school went on to honorably serve in the United States Army. He was employed with Ford Motor Company as a pipefitter for over 30 years, something that he was always proud of. In his free time John was an avid reader, fisherman and marksman. His most treasured times were spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his three children: Donna (nee Klein) Demarest, Denise Anna Klein and John G. Klein all of Braceville; eight grandchildren: Nick (Stephanie) Klein of Braidwood, Mike Wilmsen of Braceville, Matthew (Kim) Wilmsen of Godley, Ashley (Todd) Davis of Ottawa, Mary Jean (Eric) Middleton of Midway, GA; Cassandra Klein, Faith Klein and Tricia Klein all of Ottawa; 10 great-grandchildren, as well as his dear friends, Cecelia (Jerry) English of Braidwood and George Kent of Braceville.
John was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bob Klein and one sister, Johanna Klein.
Per John's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
A private inurnment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at a later date.
