Keith Palmer

MORRIS—Keith Palmer, 85, of Morris and formerly of Friendswood, TX, passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 at Regency Care of Morris.
Born Dec. 17, 1931 in Mason City, IA, Keith was a son of Donald and Gwendolyn (nee Crowell) Palmer. He was raised and educated in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School with the class of 1949. Keith went on to honorably serve in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After his time in the service, Keith worked for Amoco Chemical Corporation as a foreman for 33 years and then transitioned into real estate until retirement. On July 1, 1989, Keith married his best friend, Eugenia Paull in Friendswood, TX. Together they would work as a team in real estate where they won numerous awards such as the Golden Rule Award and the Key Man Award. Keith served as secretary of the Women's Counsel of Realtors and participated in numerous fundraising campaigns for breast cancer awareness which helped to build women's shelters. Keith and Eugenia also loved traveling across the United States, as well as parts of Canada and Mexico.
Survivors include his wife, Eugenia; four children and three step-children, four grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, one brother, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one granddaughter and three sisters.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 E. Washington St., one block east of Illinois Route 47, in Morris. Burial with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
