Mikey Wilkey

GODLEY—Mikey Wilkey, 15, of Godley, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 27, 2017.
Born July 4, 2002 in Morris, Illinois, Michael Wayne is a son of Toni Picciola and Todd Wilkey. He was currently a freshman at Reed-Custer High School.
A young man who from an early age learned to appreciate the outdoors, Mikey loved fishing and enjoyed using his tools and talents to build things. He was currently learning to play the guitar, and among his vast interests also took great pleasure in both cooking and baking.
In past years he helped at both Godley and Braidwood Park Districts, and particularly loved the Haunted Barn.
One who was loved by teachers and friends alike, Mikey will be remembered for always being there for anyone in need.
Survivors include his parents; Toni Picciola of Godley and Todd Wilkey of Braidwood; five sisters: Danielle Picciola of Godley, Haley (Jesse) Kerr of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Makenzie VanWinsen of Godley, Samantha (Brandon) Davidson of Louisiana and Brittany Wilkey of West Chicago; his maternal grandmother Sandra Picciola of Godley and paternal grandmother Nora Wilkey of Braidwood, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mikey was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Russell Picciola and paternal grandfather Wayne Wilkey.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018 from 3 p.m. until time of funeral service 7 p.m. at Christian Life Assembly, 2960 East Division Street (Illinois Route 113) in Diamond.
Pastor Randy Adams will officiate, and cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
