Richard W. Pemble

JOLIET—Richard W, Pemble, 101, of Joliet, passed away at Lightways Hospice on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
Born Oct. 24, 1924 to Homer and Ann (Voss) Pemble who preceded him along with his loving wife, Edna (Gunchin) (1999) and his son, Thomas (2013). Also brother, Homer Lee and sister-in-law, Faye.
He is survived by his daughters, Rinnea (Benjamin) Holman, of Diamond and Kathleen, of Greendale, WI; grandson, Michael (Tina) Pemble, of Braidwood; great-granddaughter, Aubree; great-grandson, Alexander (Anna) Eberhart and great-great-granddaughter, Isla, of Braceville; also numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He graduated from J.T.H.S class of 1942. Served in WWII with the U.S. Army T4 13th Airborne as a Surgical Medical Tech in France; a 32 degree Mason (Turtle), who rode motorcycles with the Joliet Shrine Motor Patrol; member of Faith Lutheran Church for 70 years. He was an expert tinner (SNIPS), a teacher of the apprenticeship program and former financial secretary/treasurer of Local 50/265 Sheet Metal Union with 80 years in the union. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, golf and travel.

Visitation was held Monday, April 6, 2026 from at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Memorials to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
