What’s coming to the market?

It’s time for another Market Fresh on Broadway farmers market in Coal City.  
    The fourth market of the season is set for Saturday,  Aug. 18,  from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  at Campbell Memorial Park, 580 S. Broadway. The market is hosted by the village of Coal City and Coal City Park Board. Market Fresh on Broadway is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    Locally grown produce, baked goods and handcrafted items are just a few of the items that will be available at this weeks market that welcomes a new produce vendor to the park.
    Twin Oaks, a Wilmington-based farm, will have potatoes, watermelon and peppers at its stand.
    Additional vendors scheduled to take part in this week’s market are:
    • Perkins Farm—Variety of garden grown vegetables.
    • Three Sisters Produce—Jams, jellies, spices, baked goods, vegetables, teas and soyfree chicken and duck eggs, along with quail eggs.
    • Wills Family Farm—Sweet corn.
    • Sunny Bee Farms—Locally harvest honey.
    • StoreHouse Farm—Oyster and shittake mushrooms, salad mix, lettuce and other homegrown items.
    • M&M Specialties—Cookies, muffins, bread, cake and cupcakes.
    • Two Crafty Ladies—Hooded bath towels, key fobs, rice bags and more.
    • Tonya’s Trikes and More—Diaper creations and other unique baby gifts.
    • Sunshine Garden Center—Plants, herbs and gift items.
    • Beautiful Bridal Boquets—Custom designed floral arrangements for any occasion from weddings to dances, as well as centerpieces and grave decorations.
    • Apisera Craftworks— Plants, vegetables, fruits, pickled items, jams, homemade crafts.
    • Carbon Cycle Farms—Variety of garden fresh vegetables.
    • Nettle Creek Lavender Farm—Dried lavender bouquets, plans, lavender and herbal bath and body care, sachets, herb bouquets and raspberries.
    • Candy and Corn—Snow cones, gourmet and buttered popcorn, cookies, candy, praline nuts and cotton candy.
    • Rogue Curbside Kitchen—Made to order breakfast items and sandwiches.
    • Coal City Police Department—Brats served from the concession stand.
    Entertainment will be provided by Jesse McCants and Ms. René from the Coal City Public Library will hold storytime in the gazebo from 9 to 10 a.m.
    Additional market days are Saturday Sept. 1 and 15 and Thursday, Sept. 6.
