Starting with the snake in the Garden of Eden, the world has always had con artists. And there can be no doubt that Wilmington has had more than her share, especially during the 1870’s and 1880’s.
We will examine just two months, March and April of 1880, and look at two cons that were luckily exposed before doing too much damage. The first takes place in March in Braidwood. It involves Prof. A.B. James alias A.B. Remington.
