Catherine McClure

CHICAGO—Catherine McClure, 56, of Chicago, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Catherine was born Jan. 20, 1967 in Los Angeles, CA, and was raised and educated in Kankakee and Bradley, IL. She graduated from Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School with the class of 1985, and furthered her education by completing a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a master's degree in operations & systems management at the University of Southern California.
Catherine was an accomplished woman with a strong work ethic, reaching the title of Vice President of Product Sourcing & Development with Zing Zang LLC in Chicago. She loved to travel and see the beauty that our world has to offer. Catherine enjoyed skiing and hiking, and relished her trip with her dear friends to Mount Blanc in Europe in 2022. Though she leaves us far too soon, she made a profound impact on her family and friends she leaves behind, and will be treasured by those who knew and loved her forever.
Survivors include her brother, Rick Holub, of Redding, CA; two nieces, Kayla Tatom and Morgan Boughton; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends that were like family to her.
Catherine was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Gatlin; two uncles, Jack Schott and John Cavanaugh; cousins, Marnie Wyatt and Eleanora Oliphant; and her dear friend, Trey McClure.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd., in Wilmington from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wilmington.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Catherine's memory to the American Cancer Society.
