St. Rose vaccine clinic in Wilmington to take walk-ins

The COVID-19 vaccination clinic at St. Rose School in Wilmington will start taking walk-ins this week.

The Will County Health Department announced that the clinic began accepting walk-ins on Tuesday. Walks-ins will be allowed today (May 5) from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The clinic will also continue to take appointments online, by logging on to https://events.juvare.com/.../4c246e52-9248-4b14-84ca.../ and typing in the voucher code “Wilmington.”

At the beginning of the week, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported that 9.4 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state.

In Will County, the total number of administered doses is 486,372, and 202,110 people in the county — just over 29% — have now been fully vaccinated.

All residents in the state age 16 and older are now eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine.

As of April 30, the test positivity seven day rolling average in Region 7, which includes Will and Kankakee counties, is 5.8%.

As of Monday, the Illinois Department of Public Health was reporting a total of 1.3 million COVID-19 cases in Illinois, and 22,047 deaths.

The state is also reporting a total of 3,847 cases of COVID-19 variant cases.

Since march of 2020, the total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the 60481 zip code, which includes Wilmington, Symerton, and outlying rural areas, is 1,275. In zip code 60408, which includes Braidwood and Shadow Lakes, the total number of cases over the past year is 601.
