Before the first pitch could be thrown, it took months of preparation by 14 board members and dozens of coaches in the Wilmington Baseball Softball Association.
It’s an effort that’s turned an annual rite of spring into a community tradition whereby parents and volunteers unite so kids can play ball.
Look at the parents coaching today and you’ll see that most were at one time players in the WBSA. They are volunteering just like their parents did when they were young.
