The 2021 Wildcats came out of the woods one last time Friday but this time they weren’t running at top speed.
Instead they came out walking, between a handful of revved up Harleys, carrying the Class 2A state football championship trophy. It was the climax to a remarkable day, and season, as they were cheered on by family and fans who returned from the title game in DeKalb.
Coaches, players and cheerleaders were given one last hurrah Friday night at Becker Field for beating Nashville 24-7 to capture first place and finish the season 14-0.
